Growing Our Future Capital Campaign
For nearly 40 years, the Lancaster County Farm and Home Center has partnered with Lancaster County's world-renowned agricultural community by offering a centrally located facility, housing a wide range of professional and economic agricultural support services. Over the years the Center has also grown in its service as an important meeting and exhibition place for many Lancaster County organizations.
But the Farm and Home Center
needed major expansion and improvement in order to effectively continue
to serve our community. Especially critical was the lack of space for
our resident agencies, coupled with the need to renew a building bearing
the effects of nearly 40 years of continuous use. After two years of
careful study and planning, the Board of Directors of the Farm and Home
Foundation embarked on an exciting plan to renovate and expand the Center.
In doing so, we improve and continue services to agriculture and the
Lancaster County community. To fund this project, the Foundation Board
authorized the Growing Our Future Capital Campaign, with a goal of $3,000,000.
The Campaign has already received $1,700,000 including leadership gifts,
support from all Foundation Directors, and pledges and gifts from numerous
friends.
Now, as we begin this general appeal for the Growing Our Future Campaign in earnest, we invite the commitments of those, such as you, who have an abiding interest in the Farm and Home Center and the success of agriculture in Lancaster County.
It is our hope, and that of the Campaign Committee, that you will join us and consider a gift of one of the Share Plans shown on the gift card and the Growing Our Future campaign information below. All those subscribing to a Share Plan will eventually be listed on an Honor Roll of Donors, to be placed in the Center's brand new lobby.
You may also wish to join an effort to honor Max Smith, one of the original leaders who both envisioned and made reality the Lancaster Farm and Home Center. His vision resulted in the realization of a foundation and facilities that over the years has hosted thousands of agricultural, family living and 4-H youth educational events, been the source of conservation management technical assistance, and provided loans to sustain numerous farm families. His continued participation as an emeritus Board member at the age of 90 demonstrates his dedication and vital interest in the mission of the Foundation. So it seems most fitting to honor the life work of Max Smith by naming a significant part of the Farm and Home Center for him. Our goal is to raise $500,000 to do that, but we need your help.
If you would desire to participate in the Max Smith naming effort, please complete the Max download below. If you choose to give through the Share Plan program, you may download that pledge card, also as indicated below.
It is your decision, of course, and your gift is welcome in whatever manner you determine is right for you. Your generous pledge today will help the Farm and Home Center enormously. Please know that your generous help in any amount to the Growing Our Future Campaign will be most appreciated.
